So, we were telling you that we can learn, the whole family can learn irrespective of their age, the most beautiful lessons of life from our stories, these stories are being collected from various sources from our mythological epics, books, legendary stories and suitably modified to suit the present situations or present time that is around us. Some of the stories are thus legendary, some of them are folk tales, some are imaginary, and still some are pure fiction or others have some scientific base, and so on. The purpose is learning, so we must go by the old saying that concentrate on eating the fruits and do not count the trees.
” A good-running restaurant owner was cautioned by the customers many times that one particular old man does not pay you and slips away in the crowd after eating his food and this is not once or twice but happening every day, Whenever this thing is observed by somebody he or she goes to the counter where the owner is sitting and collecting money from customers and informs the owner that look that old person has eaten the food but slipping away without making the payment. Listening to this the owner would smile and say OK let him go away, it makes no difference. ONE regular customer who has now observed this episode daily thinks that this old person might be relative to the owner otherwise why he is allowed to go without making payment for his food? So this customer decided to get an answer from the owner of the restaurant today and on approaching him he asked what makes him allow this particular old man to go away without paying, what is the secret behind it, is he a relative to you? Alternatively, he might be your workman, is it not? What is the secret, many people have informed you, but you have just ignored and do not pay attention to this happening in your hotel. The owner smiled again and took this gentle customer a little away from the counter and told him to look, this old person is coming daily and eating without payment is known to me. I was also curious to find out the reason, but then I had some patience and faith in the Almighty, so initially, I thought he might not have the money to pay but then this man is coming daily and has no regret or fear of being caught. When it became routine, I started observing him from a distance and found that perhaps he was the person who was running my hotel, as I have been doing a very good business since this old person was coming to my restaurant, before I was simply earning but not flourishing like this. Look this man comes at around 10 O Clock in the morning and by that time number of customers is less. This person waits till 11 AM and sits in silence outside of my premises as if he is praying for more customers or a crowd so that no one can pay attention to him. So my dear friend, one does not understand the helping hand of the Almighty, this old man is here perhaps wanting me to break out, wanting me to shout for the payment, and this way he is interested in taking my exam as for how many days more I am going to tolerate him further. Believe me one free lunch to him is a boon to me, he is the person whose prayer is heard by the Almighty, and one free lunch to this great man is giving me hundreds of customers daily.
The lesson of this story is to allow things to happen in their natural way, who are we to question why this is happening.? Saint Namdev, who was just able to meet his daily routine expenses by doing little printing work on garments, was eating roti and a little ghee in a bowl. There was no vegetable as money was short. Suddenly a dog came from nowhere and took the roti that was in his hands, Saint Namdev did not react, no shouting, no abuse for Dog, who took away a piece of roti. Instead, Saint Namdev understood this episode as the will and wish of the Almighty and considered perhaps the Dog was more hungry than him, and this way Dog was entitled to take away the roti. The reaction from Saint Namdev Was that he ran after the Dog, saying O my dear Dog, how can you eat a dried roti, take this little quantity of ghee also so that it becomes digestible to you.
Who knows what is good or bad, we must keep away our desires and let things go their own way.
